Swan Bench

• The form is drawn from a swan taking to the air, the wing carved as it lifts and opens.
• The seat is one slab, mitred at the edge so the grain turns and runs on unbroken down the drop.
• The drop is carved by hand into layered feathers, each worked to catch the light as it falls.
• The bench works at the foot of a bed or along a wall, where it is seen side-on rather than head-on.
