About This Piece

• The backrest is scooped across its width, so it meets the spine rather than sitting flat behind it.
• The legs socket into the seat from below and the spindles from above, each held by a wedged tenon.
• The spindles go in drier than the seat, so the joints close tighter as the two settle.
• The back stands two or three inches above a standard tabletop, so the chair slides in easily.
